How to add DIBELS scores in Connect: Educator

Modified on Mon, 14 Aug, 2023 at 8:39 AM

Select Assessment Results in the left menu. Here you can add assessment data and view all assessments administered during the program.

  • Verify or select your Classroom.

  • Verify or select Assessment Type is DIBELS

  • Select Beginning, Middle (Optional), or Ending Assessment along the top.
Note for Teachers:  If a Midpoint Assessment is expected but is not available, please contact your Program Leader or Springboard representative to address the addition of the Midpoint Assessment

Note for Program Leaders: The Midpoint Assessment can be added by selecting the Midpoint     Assessment checkbox in the Program Configuration.

        4. Open an editing session by selecting the Edit icon.

        5. You can now input data for students.

        6. Enter the Date of the assessment.

        7. Select the Test Level. This is the grade of the assessment given. Depending on your selection only relevant measurements will become editable (LNF, PSF, NWF-CLS, NWF-WRC, WRF, ORF). For more information on the measurement fields, see Additional Information: DIBELS Measurements.

  1. Enter in the student’s test scores. For Springboard Afterschool partners: Upon saving, Connect will automatically populate the Growth Goal and Stretch Goal based on the inputted scores for the Beginning Assessment. Growth and Stretch Goals will carry over to the Ending Assessment tab.

    • If a student tests below the threshold on the field used for goal generation, Connect will prompt you to retest the student one grade level down so that the system can generate an accurate Growth and Stretch goal. Additionally, the student record will be highlighted in blue and a downward arrow will be displayed in the ‘Test Student’ field. For more information, please see the Using DIBELS with Springboard Collaborative document.

  • If a student tests highly on the field used for goal generation Connect will prompt you to retest the student one grade level up so that the system can generate a Growth and Stretch goal. For more information on this, please see the Using DIBELS with Springboard Collaborative document.

  1. If you would like to view Assessment data as a spreadsheet, select Export in the top right corner, then Export as CSV.

Note:  You can add results under Student Information, but it's not recommended since Growth Goals and Stretch Goals will not be populated in that view.
