A family I'm working with isn't able to use Connect: Family consistently - how do I enter minutes read and strategy reflections on behalf of a family or student? (Assessment Based Program)

As teachers, you might work with families who aren’t able to use Connect: Family Companion consistently, and as strong teammates you might want to enter Connect data for them. You can learn this through conversations with your families and by checking minutes read on your end regularly. To enter minutes read and strategy reflections on behalf of a family or student, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Reading Time & Strategies page

  2. Select Reading Time at Home at the top of the screen (it will be highlighted in blue)

  3. Select the Classroom and Week for which you want to enter information

  4. Input, change, or delete student’ minutes read in the Reading at Home Section.

  5. Click Save Changes before closing or moving to another tab

Inputting Weekly Strategy information is done from this same page.

  1. Select Weekly Strategy at the top of the page (highlighted in blue)

  2. Select the Classroom for which you want to enter information

  3. Click edit and navigate to the student whose weekly strategy information you’d like to input

  4. Scroll to the right in order to find the week in which you will be inputting data (you cannot enter information for a week that has not already passed)

  5. Click on the arrow to the right of the work ‘Select’

  6. Choose from the options: independently, with some support, or with a lot of support

  7. Click Save Changes before closing.

Please reach out to your Springboard Program Leader or Program Coach if you have any questions entering minutes read or strategy reflections.
